Interview with Blunt, Charles, Patrick, Ryan and TJ


JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Blunt: No! I wasn't release early on good behavior. I had to complete my whole six months.Before I served my time I was on probation. Instead of the five years probation I chose the jail time.
Charles: This did not apply to me, I was never sentenced.
Patrick: yes in new york good behavior is given in advance and if u mess up they take it away
Ryan: new york already calculates your time already, 6 months is 4, and 1 year is 8 months.
TJ: no

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Blunt: i was told that you could receive good behavior
Charles: I dont know.
Patrick: up to four months depending on how long was your sentencing
Ryan: there is none
TJ: none

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off?
Blunt: i read books and magazines an workout
Charles: While I was in Rikers I did not hear of any prisoners getting time off for good behavior. I think this happened in Upstate prisons. Prisoners would be sent upstate after they were sentenced. Some prisoners got "time served"
Patrick: fighting smoking or having contraband
Ryan: there is none they compute it before you get there.
TJ: contraband,fighting
